How to Choose a Program
Kids Karate
Our karate programme emphasises useful skills while educating the learner with traditional martial art principles.
Karate is a way for your child to learn perseverance, goal-setting, and patience using the belt system, where pupils start from white and progress to black.
Karate will be included as an Olympic sport in 2020. Kids Karate at VT1 is the ideal place to start if your kid wants to compete in the Olympics one day.
Kids Muay Thai Kickboxing
Kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Feel safe in the knowledge that your child has the self-assurance and abilities to handle whatever obstacles that come their way, by allowing them to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It is simple, fun and incredibly effective.
For more than 15 years, our Martial Arts Academy has been instructing kids on the Sydney North Shore. Our Jiu Jitsu instructors are well-known professionals who are also parents. They are fully qualified to support kids of all ages to thrive both on and off the mats.
Kids Leadership and Competition Programs
Our most advanced martial artists can join a Leadership Team. They will learn leadership skills, advanced martial arts techniques and training as well as leading the younger students.
We also have a Competition Team. Competition is not compulsory at VT1. It is however a great place for the kids to learn about goals, nerves and dealing with losing/winning in a healthy way. We recommend that kids wait at least 12 months before trying a competition. The VT1 in-house events are a great place to start.
